- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)much liquor was aboard. After leaving Kilmurry they faced towards Fanny O Dea's and stayed in Lissycasey for a considerable time. One night they indulged in a great quantity of drink at Fanny O Dea's and after leaving there they went along the main road until they reached a bye road leading to Boloughera. They took this road and halted at the first house. An old man and his wife were the only occupants and consequently they became insolent.
They cut down a piece of meat that was hanging on a nail; stirred up the fire; got a cooking pan and had a sumptuous meal at the expense of the old man. Some of the them entered the room and intended to put up on the old man's bed for the night and the others lay by the fire, intending to have a comfortable sleep.
A neighbouring boy saw the whole "carry on" and lost no time in going to Mickey Moore's, where Tom Reidy and his Faction resorted nightly for card playing. His errand was soon told and Tom and his faction were not long or lazy making for the house and they gave the tinkers such a "hiding" that a Casey not a Carthy never showed their faces in Boloughera again.- Bailitheoir
