“The Miller was a very important person years ago.”
The following story was told to me by Mrs. Margaret Grogan of Montanove aged 78 years.The Miller was a very important person years ago. I can still remember the miller and his mill which stood beside the road leading from the steel bridge over the River Aherlow to the present Rossadrehed Creamery.
The mill was situated between the farm of Mr Patrick Connors and the creamery.
The old road is called "The Millers road." The miller was the present Patrick COnnors great grandfather.
He was very tall and thin and I suppose on that account was nick-named "The Langer."
Where the ruins of his house stood was called and is still called after him. "The Langer's Place. He used to grind(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
