  1. Long ago there were pipes sold in Nine-mile-house. A man lived there that used to make clay pipes and sell them. He had a mark on every pipe he sold so that he would know if any body else was making pipes. when he would get a broken pipe to mend he would carefully examine it to see if his mark was on it, if it was not, he would not mend it. Tobacco was sold near Glenaskough by a woman named Mrs Flynn. All the people of Glenaskough, Breanor and several other places used
