  1. There is a fort about three miles from this place. It is in a field belonging to Mr Maher of Kiltrassey. One day a man was passing by the fort and he was very anxious to go in. He went around the fort and what did he see but a fairy. The fairy had a crock of gold and he was putting it into the ground. The man ran in a hide with out leaving the fairy see him. Next morning he and his two brothers went to dig for the gold. In a few months after he went out to cut hay and as he was cutting the hay one of the horses broke his leg. The man went home for another horse and when he came back the other horse
