    Treacy and Daniel Hanlon and some others, all from Ballinakill . The 'famous road gate' mentioned i the entrance to Michael Meagher's house, and this , a few years ago used by the rendezvous for all the young folk of the district.
    Dancing was carried on by the roadside and when the fun ceased, this song was composed in memory of the good times spent at the gate
