And I will go along with you ¶ Here is my hear a hand

    (continued from previous page)
    To Bergin's forge we'd go,
And see the gentle horses shod,
    And hear the bellows blow.
And when the watched for evening came,
Our hearts would rise with glee,
For at that famous road gate,
    Our meeting-place would be.
The boys and girls from Ballinakill,
    Would be assembled there,
    While Hanlon on the melodeon,
    Played many a lovely air.
Alas! those days are gone and past,
    We'll never see them more,
    The company's gone wallop,
    Our dancing days are o'er.
Some future day I do intend,
    Around those scenes to roam,
And stop to view upon my way,
The place I once called Home.
