They bread would be made every day of the week, On the top of the cake those who would be making would put a cross on the top of it, The vessel which the cake is baked in is called an oven or a baker. The bread is often baked at the side of the fire & put a few sods of turf for support to it.

    Bread was made from wheat and from potatoes long. They used querns for grinding. the wheat and it was used in my district. It was whole meal
