  1. The shops were as common in older times as they are now. The people used go to the nearest town to buy what the would want. Money is always given for goods. There is words connected with buying and selling such as tick and boot. Markets are held in towns such as Thurles as well as they are now. They are still held there. There used people come round long ago buying feathers and rags they come at present buying feathers from the people in my district.
