  1. (continued from previous page)
On the road between Newport and Rea.
James Ryan drinks a gallon each evening
I am sure it don;t half quench his thirst
For his stomach goes three feet before him
When breathing, you'ld think he would burst.
Pat Cormac goes ancing on barrels
Some think he might go astray
Paddy Phelean goes crying after girls
On the road between Newport and Rea.
The young boys have their Sunday shoes worn
They are out every night at a dance
The young ladies are so facinating
Their equals you won't meet with in France.
If you were to hear Dan Moloney, you would laugh
Till your sides they would break
And he singing the old stack of barley
With a voice like the bawl of Nell Flahertys drake.
Oh! if we had brewery built near it, us,
Our funds and expenses tot pay .
W'ell swear we would have heaven in Ireland
On the road between Newport and Rea.
