    Sure outdoor life appeals to most, and this is a la mode.
    Politics have not come his way. He is a cloudless sky.
    And happiness is pictured in, the little country boy.
    He fondly twines his youthful arms, around the house dog "meek".
    Oft pulls its hair and rubs its head, agains his chubby "Cheek".
    And "grip" the dog is so well pleased he licks with sheer joy.
    The hands and face of Patsy, the little country boy.
    When twilight falls he says his prayers 'tis sweet to hear lisp.
    The curly head though brushed at noon, is then a tangled wisp.
    He nods upon his mothers knee, while loosely falls his toy.
    Drops off asleep, when angels keep, the little country boy.
