    The Care of the Feet.
    Many children go barefoot in Summer but none of them go barefoot all the year round. It is said that it is very unlucky if the water is not thrown out after the fat being washed.
    Boots are made and repaired locally. Boots were worn at about the age of twelve. There are four shoemakers in this district. It has been a tradition in two or three of the four families. There are only half the amount of shoemakers now that were there of old. The change has come because mostly all boots are made in factories nowadays.
    Clogs were never made or worn in this district. Leather was never made in this district at any time.
