  1. There is a slate quarry in our farm in Cullane. It is about four fields from our house.
    Slate was cut there a few years ago and used for slating houses.
    The Kingston Castle Mitchelstown was slated with the Slate from this quarry.
    One day while the men who were employed in cutting the slate were at dinner, the quarry filled in with water, covering up the implements, and so it remains to this day.
