  1. There was a hedge-school taught by a Mr Moynihan, a few hundred yards below Darragh Creamery and on the opposite bank of the river. He and his son lived in a small thatched house near the junction of the roads from Glenroe and Kilfinane.
    Miss Hogan, (afterwards Mrs Hyland of Darragh) taught occasionally in the school also, whenever she was free to do so.
