Long ago people believed in superstitions and "Piseoga" and some people still believe in them.
There are peculiar things said about magpies, such as
"One for bad luck
Two for good luck
Three for a wedding
Four for a wake
Five for silver
Six for gold
Seven for a secret that is not told"
This verse means if you meet a magpie you will have bad luck, if you meet two you will have good luck and if you meet three there will be a wedding and so on as the verse goes.
Several of these superstitions refer to the month of May as regards milk.
