- A poor scholar.A poor scholar lived one time in Kilbreedy. He used to go from house to house teaching and spending a week here and a week there. He fell sick in a farmer's house and died and they buried him in the ruins of an old church in the townsland of Ballinamona - the ancient church of Kilcornan in the parish of Stonehall. He was buried for a considerable time and his friends missed him because he was so long away from his native place in Lisdoonvarna, Co. Clare. They dreamt night after night that he was buried in a little ruin of a church in a place called Ballinamona and that there were also priests buried in the same church and they did not want his remains to be buried with theirs. After a long search they found out his burial place all through the dream. They had his remains removed and buried in his own burying ground in Lisdoonvarna, Co.
