    And what should he see but the shaft of his car.

    To come down and a see what was done to the shaft.
    T'was then the right tearing and swearing began.
    The peddlar and pack for the peelers he ran.
    And as he was passing through Murt's piece of ground.
    He saw the gate cut and the hay tossed around.
