   This was a very sad occurrence as they were taken wholly unawares in the dead of night never expecting such a calamity approaching the Christmas festival as the local poet put it then.

   A little while before the "Black and Tan" regime this country was badly infected with the "Flú" so much so that a great many people died of various ages. The only ones to escape infection were mostly children under eight years.
   Doctors then could not prescribe a cure in time to save the patients with the result that the death used occur in a period of
