    There were people who used to make barrels, and they were called coopers. Mr. Daniel Cashin Water Gate Street, is a cooper and makes barrels and tubs still.
    There were many nailers in Kanturk. One was called "Con Nooks", whose name was Con Callaghan. He lived in Bluepool and he has a workshop in O'Brien Street in the house occupied by Mr. Denis Lucey. Mr. W. Allen Percival Street was a nailer also.
    Mr. Patrick Keeffe, Greenfield, Kanturk was a famous wheel-wright.
    In Mr. Howard's land Springrove, Kanturk there is a lime-kiln where lime used to be burned. In every farm there used to be a kiln, so that the farmer could burn his own lime.
