- (continued from previous page)A child born after the death of its father is supposed to be able to cure the thrush. A child born on Good Friday is able to kill a worm by blowing his breath upon it, or he could cure a boil by blowing his breath on it for three mornings, and by making the sign of the Cross on it.
There is a certain part of the dock leaf and if you put it on a sore-lip it would cure it. If a roasted onion is put up to a pain in the ear it would cure it.
If a poultice of boiled onions is put around your throat it will cure croup. If a stocking of hot salt it put up to a sore throat it will cure it. If one got a cut and if a cobweb is put up to it, it will stop the blood.
