If the clouds appear to travel very fast across the sky it is a sign of a storm. When a rainbow is in the sky it is the sign of rain.
    When the wind blows from the north-east it is a sign of snow. When it blows from the south-west it is a sign of rain.
    If a great number of plover are seen together it is the sign of a fine Winter. If curlews are heard crying it is the sign of rain. If geese are seen flying high it is the sign of snow.
