  1. The Potato Crop
    Some people sow about an acre or half of potatoes or what ever amount they require. The farmers set the most potatoes. Manure is spread on the ground before the ridges are made. The ridges are ploughed five sods in every ridge and a furrow is left between every two ridges for the earth. Sometimes the manure is spread on the top of the ridges when the potatoes are sown.
    The furrows are ploughed with a furrow plough and the earth is shoocled [?] up on the top of of the ridges. The most of potatoes that are sown in drills but the potatoes that grow in ridges are the best for eating.
