    of mud and marks the sold animals with it. some people insist on getting the halter or rope when an animal is sold. one buyer when making a plea for the halter says he'd like to have some good things going home, as the rest of what he bought the animals were duds. there were two public houses in Spittle and people coming home from the fair would end their day with a faction fight there.
