- About seventy years ago it was a custom in this parish to have two nights wake when a person would die and enough whiskey and tobacco and clay pipes and snuff used be supplied by members of the house. Corpses used not be taken to the Chapel before burial that time and the funeral used leave the house when going to the graveyard. It was also a great custom to have two or three people caoining and crying out loud, following the funeral.
