Ar an leathanach seo
- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)were very small, and a small window high up on each gable admitted light to the "loft". The floors were usually earthen, but occasionally flagged.
The people were generally poor, as their farms were small and the district was more thickly populated then than now. The ruins of the old houses are still to be seen. Most of the old people knew Irish but as very few of them are alive now, Irish is not spoken.
