  1. There are a great number of wells here and there through the country and long ago the pagan Irish held these wells as sacred and visited them. When Saint Patrick came to Ireland he knew there was no use trying to prevent them going so he blessed all the wells in the country and let the people keep visiting them, and that is the origin of these wells.Thus began the pilgrimage to the holy wells.
    July and Augest are the special months for visiting these wells. People
