It takes about three quarters of an hour to do the churning. It is done by hand and the dash is always moving upwards and downwards.
When the dash comes up clean without any bits of butter on it it is a sign that the butter is made.
In Winter and in cold weather there is boiling water put into the churn so as to heat the milk and when the weather is very hot there is cold water put in to(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
