Ar an leathanach seo
- There were many poets in the district formerly. Amoung them were - Mr Joe Thompson, Scramogue, Strokestown, Mr Murray, Lismehy, Strokestown. Mr James Quinn and his son Mr Michael Quinn, Fairymount, Kilrooskey, Roscommon, and Miss Maggie Cuffe, Clooncagh, Strokestown.
All these poets are alive yet only Mr James Quinn and Mr Martain Murray. Mr Quinn was burried in Kilgefin and Mr Muerray in Lisonuffy churchyard.
Mr Thompson composed a song some time ago about the Volunteers in his district. Miss Maggie Cuffe composed a song in opposition to his called - ''The Kilgefin Volunteers.'' This is a very good song and it is to be heard yet.
These poets composed all their songs in English and they and they were generally about anything important that happened in their(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
