Date: 4-6-1938Long ago there were no factories for making footballs but they were home-made.
When an old donkey died it was skinned and the skin was tanned in a mixture of lime, water vinegar and washing-soda. Then the hair was pulled off the skin and it was taken to a cobbler. The cobbler used to cut it and sew it in the shape of a football cover.
A cows or pigs bladder was used as a bladder of the football. There was air put into it with a goose quill. These(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
