    The big people also like to have a bonfire. They light it at ten and end it at four or five o'clock in the morning. They have a melodeon or a violin and they play grand music. When they are going home they bring a couple of lighted sods with them. Some take them into the house and others throw them in the land. The bonfire is lit in honour of St John.

  2. The travelling are the gipsies or the pedlars. Long ago the people used to give them a night's lodging but now they dont. They have camps made out of bags and they go to a sheltery place and they camp there for the night. They go round to the people's houses and they sell lace, little table cloths, and collar studs.
