- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)In 1917 there was a severe snow storm and old people say that it was the biggest in generations. The snow was on the ground from Febuary until March. In some parts the snow was drifted into piles as high as a house. The people had to dig steps or make a stair way to get across the drifts. People had great trouble to get cattle through fairs, held during that period the only ones that enjoyed it were the children as they could make plenty of snow men. Grown up people were wishing every day that it was over.
In 1937 there was severe frost. All the lakes and ponds were frozen. A lot of motor cars and buses skidded and people were injured. In some places they had to go down on their hands and knees to cross the road. At fairs a(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
