    The young man who was shot in this incident was named Andrew Cullen, and the guard who shot him was named Walker. The following verses which were composed in connection with the murder of Cullen were collected by Tom Caroll of Spa. He heard them from his grandfather Mr. James Carroll with whom he lives.
    You skilful bard of this Irish nation
    Pray assist me in those verses true
    Till I describe of a dreadful murder
    Commited by Walker near Abbey View.
    One Saturday night by the Castle Garden
    Young Andrew Cullen made it his way
    On to a wake that was convenient
    To spend the night in mirth and play
