- The common crow or "rook" as it is called is about the most common bird in this country. It builds its nest on the top of verery hugh trees, generally a hundred of those nests in the same grove & this grove is called a rookery. The crow have a very harsh voice unpleasant to hear especially when the young crows have been reared the noise they make is awful. Nothing but "caw" "caw" from day light in the morning till dark at night. Some birds migrate that is to say they leave this country in early Autumn & return here again at the approach of Summer.
