    are eaten first on Easter Sunday. If there was only one Good Friday egg, everyone in the house is given a bit of it to keep away the sickness of the year. It is eaten before sunrise so that they may not get sunburned that Summer. Pancakes are made on Shrove Tuesday night and the custom is, to burn the holly that was hung up at Christmas, under the pancakes.
