A man that was very fond of playing cards used to go a long distance to play cards. For a few nights he saw something and after a while when he wouldn't give up going to this house he was getting out in a gap which led to the house and he was killed.

Long ago a crowd of old men met together in a public house. After a while one man of the crowd would ask another what would he have and he answered a pint. They had a certain kind of glass called a pewter and when this was full it was left on the counter and one of the men took it up and said
Here is good health to water
Wishing it was wine,
Here is good health to your old wife,
And not forgetting mine.
