Formerly the nettle and the dandelion were used as food for animals. Nettles were used for pigs. they were cut into small pieces. Then hot porridge made from Indian meal and water was mixed with them. When this preparation was cool it was served to pigs. The dandelion was also used as food for pigs and ducks.
