    I have never heard of any treasure being hidden or found in the district in which I live but I live beside Emy lake, and there is a small island out in the middle of it.
    It was supposed that there was a house on this island at one time and that there was treasure buried in it.
    A couple of years ago Mr Shane Leslie, son of Sir John Leslie of Glaslough Demesne, Co Monaghan, went out to the Island in a boat to see if he could find anything. he commenced digging, but he only unearthed old bones and old pieces of wood, he took them away with him, I never heard anything more about them since. The Island is inundated except for a few months in the summer.
