    Geese
Geese are not as hard to rear as turkeys. The old goose lays nineteen or twenty eggs after a while she starts to hatch them. Period of incubation one month When the young birds come out they are of a yellow green colour. We rear about fifteen or sixteen every year. There is not as good a price for them as turkeys. A good goose weighs about nineteen or twenty pounds. When you sell them at Christmas we get four pence or six pence a pound When you want the geese to come for their food you call "Goosie Goosie". Their feathers are very useful for making pillows cushions.
    Pigs
Pigs are used as bacon. The hind quarters are called hams. The liver and heart are good for eating also. When you are calling the pigs you say "Hurry Hurry". You have to put rings in the pig's nose because they would distroy the fields by hoking. When you are putting rings in a pig's nose you must take care that you do not put the ring in the grizzle.
    Ducks
Ducks are very fond of water. The ducks do not lay as many eggs as the hen. They do not lay any eggs in very warm weather.
