  2. Toy-guns were made out of bootery (alder) by children at school. A piece of paper or tow or flax was rolled up and put into the gun. Then it was hit with a ramrod.
    The toy tops were made by children out of wood or out of spools. Some slings are made out of a stick by splitting it in the middle and putting a stone in it. Others are made out of strings and a piece of leather.
