As I walked along the Newtown Road in the merry month of June,
When all the crops and flower put forth their fairest bloom.
It was there I spied a lovely lake that is centuries old,
And its level shores are tainted with the emerald green and gold.

It is situated amidst five townlands that make its lovely shore,
Drumleek, Lisdonney, Errybane also Drumalish and Lurganmore.
And from this lake the river flows that turns the grand new mill,
That was prosperous in the years gone by and is so prosperous still.
