- Churning is the principal means to get butter. The people in the town do not churn as much as the people in the country.
First of all the milk is gathered into crocks and left there for some time unit it is ready for churning. When the milk is ready it is turned into the churn. We churn once a week.
During the churning there is water put into the churn to separate the milk from the cream. While the milk is still been churned, there comes small lumps of butter on the milk. When the milk is churned it is said that the dash is clean. It is then taken of the churn and made into pound of half-pound rolls. Some people sell(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
