  1. The travelling Folk
    Tinkers are people who travel from place to place in caravans. The tinker men make gallons and sauce pans whilst the women make artificial flowers and beg for food for themselves and their families.
    The Mc Donaghs are a well known band of tinkers as they call frequently.
    A general meeting of tinkers is held in Boyle on 25th November each year and they gather from Sligo, Mayo and Roscommon.
    When they are going from place to place, they leave bits of tin and cloth, so that the next band can know where the last one was and camp there.
    Beggar men do not work, only beg their food. Some of them play violins, or banjos and sing
