  1. In the village of Achronry there is a remarkable monument called the Four Rocks. There are three of those set in the ground in the form of a triangle and the other one resting on top. They are all of gigantic size. They are of a rough flat shape but all of them are bulged out at the centre. Each one would be roughly about ten or twelve feet long and about eight feet broad and about five feet in thickness.
    There are two legends about this monument. One is that when St. Finneen first visited the locality for the purpose of establishing the Achonry Dioceses and on interviewing the pagan chief who was called Wolf Head with a view of procuring a site for a monastery he met with a blunt refusal. Whereupon the saint with the power of the Most High raised his (-) and struck the rock splitting it into four parts and on the pagan
