  1. About fifty years ago there came a great flood in this district. It was and is called Ormsby's flood. Ormsby was a landlord and he had many tenants. One of these tenants was called Nora Carroll. She was very pious. On the night of the flood every place was covered with water. Nora's house was surrounded by water and a light was seen going around in it all night. Horses were seen at the door. Everybody thought Nora was drowned but when the flood had gone done Nora was found quite safe in the best of humour within in bed.
