  2. The old people dyed their own linen and flannel. According to the colour required they used different herbs and leaves. Heather boiled & strained & the clothes boiled in the liquid gave a green colour. Briar leaves boiled, the liquid was used for cleaning purposes, navy blue etc. Holly was also used.
