    agreeble man and all his tenants liked h(im) well. He had a good deal of agents the latest of them being a man named James Henry who was a solicitor and resided in O' Connell St Dublin.
    His bailiff was a man named John Devine who resided at a place called Muldra Dromae [?]. His agent was very exact but never came on the property.
    Doctor Dick was by religion a Presbyterian. He had no other estates. He was a Doctor in the navy before he bought this property and that is how he got his title Doctor. He evicted two families, one in Cloonohill and the other in Farosa.
    Although he evicted those he was very good, he gave his tenants a reduction of 7/- in the £. for 15 years without giving the tenants the trouble of going into court.
    In the year 1901 the Land-commission took over the lands from the Landlords and the tenants bought out their's together with those who were evicted and also got their bogs free.
    The tenants were very pleased to come under the Land-commission as they felt much safer than when the Landlords were
