    sing songs, and the young people dance the Irish dances, they spend the night in that way until about ten o'clock when the fire is usually burned out, the all parties retire.
    There is an old custom practised in this area, where people bring a piece of a stick or burned turf and throw it into the fields, where their crops are growing. This is supposed to bring good luck to the crops for the remainder of the year.
