who lived in the townland of Aughnaglace in the Parish of Aughavas, Carrigallen, Co Leitrim. This Patrick O'Donohoe and Joseph Gilfillan were great personal friends and on hearing of Patrick's death Joseph made the following:-

"One evening as I bent my steps (?) among some shady trees
I heard the death knell of a friend come floating on the breeze
It was the Banshee's doleful cry that rent my bosom's core
With sighs and sobs she did exclaim O Donohoe's no more

O, Cruel Death why did you seize this man so mild and pure
The surgeon of the human race and father of the Poor
Respected and beloved by all, but now lamented sore
O sad the tale it must be told O Donohoe's no more."
