Ar an leathanach seo
- Travelling folk still call at our house. The same people have been doing so for some time. Some of them are very poor but some of them appear to be fairly well off. They sell small articles such as collar buttons, pins, needles, lace, tin cans and little delph ornaments.
Some people buy from them, but generally speaking, these travel-lers are not welcome. They buy most of their goods in shops. Some of them sleep in caravans and under carts and they have food with them.
They accept any alms they get such as tea, sugar, milk and bacon.
Most of them travel in cara-vans and other travellers travel on foot.
The name of the best known travelling folk in the district.
