    "Travelling folk" or tinkers and gypsies as they are usualled called, still come to my home. The same people have not been doing so for many years. Most of them are poor. They sell carpets, lace, tin cans and linen.
    People do not usually buy from them and they are not generally welcome.
    They remain for about a week encamped outside the town.
    They sleep in caravans and they have food with them.
    The name of the best known tinkers in this district is Heany.
    They come for the regatta, horse rases, Agricultural show and fairs.
