set. The next day the two children waited and watched until the sun set and just then a door opened in the mountain side and nine little pipers came trooping out and struck up the most beautiful music ever was heard before. While the nine pipers were passing the children could not speak. The nine pipers disappeared across the mountain still playing their enchanting music. The children were dumb until the nine pipers and their music vanished. They told their mother of all they saw and heard. The next day the children went to see the door out of which the nine pipers came, but they could find nothing but a great big stone against the face of the mountain.
